- Affinity - Water Sorcery
- Uses his affinity to drink.
- Tainted during the Nidraa'chal War.
Appearance and Personality
Al'tesh is a lean male drowolath with tainted eyes. He dyes his hair teal and wears it as a mullet drawn into a loose ponytail. He typically wears a blue tunic, either over dark clothes or under his armor, but always adorned with a neck badge bearing the mark of the Imperial Guard. His true loyalty having laid exclusively to Diva'ratrika, the events of the Nidraa'chal War and its aftermath have left him a world-weary and jaded individual. He is now an excessively heavy drinker and fulfills his duty with negligible enthusiasm.
Biography - Arc II
While drinking off-duty, Al'tesh observes a Vloz'ress gathering alongside Nata'sinh. Though she suggests her feral's inability to understand the Vloz'ress to be a deliberate effort to confuse spies, he scoffs at what he perceives to be a clan of "lowlifes". He predicts that whatever they happen to be discussing, the Vloz'ress will end up disrupting the ongoing parley between the Sarghress and the Sharen.
The Puppeteer Incident
As with most of the drow in the area, Al'tesh was caught up in what became known as the Puppeteer Incident. After the death of Kharla'ggen, those she had controlled regained the use of their bodies. Al'tesh saw the joint flare given by Quain'tana and Zala'ess, noting that the call-to-arms wasn't coming from the expected direction. After the Demon God was driven off by the combined might of the Sarghress and Sharen forces, he witnessed the birth of the new alliance as Zala'ess and Quain'tana solidified a tentative truce.
Al'tesh was later assigned to escort Zala'ess and her youngest daughter during the gathering of the clans following the truce between the Sarghress and the Sharen alliance. Alongside Chrys'tel, he blocked the path of Sil'lice when the latter happened across the group as they made their way to a meeting with Sarghress leadership. As an enraged Sil'lice struggled with the impulse to lash out at her sister, despite her niece's attempts to calm her, Al'tesh reminded her of the Sarghress forces surrounding them. Ultimately, Sil'lice left with the threat of future vengeance, and the group continued without further incident.
Alongside Sorn'mal, Al'tesh continued to guard Zala'ess as her infection progressed to a madness stage, with Nona'brail providing medical care. Zala'ess' most recent hallucination episode startled the two soldiers, prompting caution against letting word of her condition spread to the Sarghress. When Zala'ess recovered from her illness with the aid of a Jaal'darya treatment, Al'tesh followed the Empress as she was led by Wi'am to speak directly with Snadhya'rune, witness to the negotiations that followed between the two sisters.
Three days after Zala'ess' recovery, Sorn'mal and Chrys'tel went to question a newly-released Nir'naya about Snadhya'rune's involvement with Zala's sudden questionable orders. Joined by Sarai, they discover their former Captain beaten and without a tongue after her torture and interrogation at the hands of Sarghress. The two are then informed by Al'tesh that Zala'ess has declared Chrys'tel to be the new Captain of the Imperial Guard, as part of a bargain made with Snadhya'rune.
Biography - Arc III
"There's plenty of reasons why that clan is a laughing stock. They'll do something stupid to mess with the parley, mark my words." -Commenting on the Vloz'ress.
