- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

The Val'Balvhakara are the premier engineers of the underworld. In a city of peace they are among the few in Nuqrah'shareh that actively prepare for war. Their intense study on golem development has moved them well beyond the comparatively primal machinations common in Chel'el'Sussoloth and second to none in the field of battle.

History

The Balvhakara: Battlefield Engineers.

Originally native to the mountainous Phariasta region in the old world, the Balvhakara fled underground like many others in the wake of the nether chaos that emerged from the Great Wars, establishing themselves as a clan of Nuqrah'shareh in the third century. They are the remnants of the commoners who left much later after the nobility who followed Sharess did.

Notable Event: Nuqrah'shareh Civil War

The war in Chel'el'Sussoloth led to a massive stream of refugees traveling to Nuqrah'shareh, straining the city's resources to a breaking point. Enraged by the lack of assistance from the Illhar'dro, a large portion of the rioting population assailed the clan's palace. In the midst of the chaos Balsii Val'Illhar'dro successfully overthrew the Ill'haress Nega'fanea in an effort to establish control of the revolt outside. Escaping and finding allies in the clans Jie'yen, Balvhakara and Sharen of Zala'ess Vel'Sharen, the Ill’haress was able to oversee a counter assault that forced her rebellious cousin into surrender. Though the war within the Illhar'dro ranks had apparently come to an end, there was still much contention between the clans and commoners of the city, with civil unrest ongoing.

Notable Event: The District War

Along with their fellow clans of Jie'yen and Val'Illhar'dro, the Balvhakara traveled to the Vloz'ress district to aid in Zala'ess Vel'Sharen's recapture of Chel'el'Sussoloth. They brought several particularly formidable golems to aid in the Alliance war effort. As the war came to a conclusion, it was proposed that they be granted a foothold in the city, to be established in the Skyhole ruins.[1] Though those negotiations were disrupted by the illness and temporary insanity of Zala'ess, at the very least they were officially granted Val status.[2]

However, due to the complexity of the situation back home, the Balvhakara had elected to withdraw and return to Nuqrah'shareh after three years of working alongside the Sharen to maintain stability[3]. During this time, many of the clan even sought partners with the Beldrobbaen to renew the bloodlines and increase numbers[4].

Culture and Politics

There is a similar culture to be found between the Balvhakara and Val'Beldrobbaen of Chel'el'Sussoloth, the two clans having broken off from a common ancestor during the Great War--while the Beldrobbaen predecessors fled underground with Sharess, those Phariastans that stayed behind left much later to become the clan it is today. The Balvhakara however have not clung so adamantly to outdated traditions nor been beset by the tragedies that so ravage their cousins, and have flourished as a result. They believe in the power of technology, rather than of law as the Beldrobbaen do.

The Balvhakara are widely known for their advanced technological development, itself superior to any known clan so far revealed. Their most iconic creations are their massive golems, huge war machines capable of rivaling the mightiest of the Vel'Sharen ancestor golems. Mana-efficient motors under smooth, curved armor are the hallmarks of these mechanizations, just as much killing machines as they are works of art. The infantry of the clan are no mere soldiers either; each is outfitted with a state of the art suit of power armor, making each of their few the equal to several traditional warriors.

Though their home in Nuqrah'shareh is a bastion of peace the clan makes their living off of war, so it is clear that they prove their mettle in conflicts outside of the city. Their machines and troops often march aside allied Val'Illhar'dro in both military campaigns as well as protection for their caravans. Their technology was put to the test during the civil war that erupted in Nuqrah'shareh, where they stood beside the disposed Il'haress in taking back control of her clan.
