Freyja van Niroenir
Frey'ja is a young light elf noble that befriends Chirinide Val'Kyorl'solenurn on her exploration of the surface.
Appearance and Personality
Freyja is a young blonde vanir girl dressed in dark green and white traveling clothes, and wears a similarly colored hat. She is unable to speak the dark elven language like her brother, and needs others to translate. Despite the hardships she faced that separated her from Freyr, Freyja remains a cheerful young lady who is happy to talk about her people and culture to visitors. Freyja is described as being idealistic about allowing drowussu into Vanaheimr.
Freyja and Freyr became separated from one another during a halme attack, and saw herself captured and brought to Nagyescsed's dungeons to be sacrificed to the halme king. She is quite scared of the ordeal but is able to manage thanks to Myou Kyorl'solenurn serving as a translator. When she and the other captives are freed by Ariel Val'Sarghress, the question of where to take the light elven slaves is brought up: Freyja mentions that other Vanir like herself exist beyond the northern mountains in Vanaheimr and they could stay in her homeland. Curiously, Freyja finds herself speaking to Diva in her own language and is given a message of greeting to Vala Hudr of House Trehar from Diva'ratrika of Sharess' House, but the little girl is unable to remember such a thing.
The journey to Vanaheimr is difficult--Chirinide and the others are still pursued by halme knights, loosing one of the vanir slaves along the way. They are also troubled by the stark change to chilly weather made worse by the lack of supplies. Still, Freyja remains optimistic about seeing her home again, happily telling the others tidbits about it. During the trip through the country's guardian mana forest the group is attacked--Freyr uses the opportunity to retrieve Freyja but quickly pummeled by the Val'Kyorlsolenurn. Freyja is sad to see the group go when the drowussu children leave Kveyka (for no one had told her anything until Freyr had come to see her), but is promised to go see the Vala at a later time for an important talk.
