Biography - Arc I

Davya Tower

Nau'kheol and Mir'kiin gang up on Ariel Val'Sarghress.[2]

Nau'kheol is first seen arriving at Orthorbbae, escorted by his father, Sabrror. His cold and angry demeanor causes Ariel to compare him unfavorably to Syphile. After the rest of the children arrive, Nau'kheol enters Davya tower with the rest of the class and listens as Kel'noz instructs the class on the school's workings. After learning to activate their keystones, the class begins to learn how to ride their floaters. Nau'kheol displays some difficulty with this task, dizzying himself by unintentionally putting his floater into a rapid spin.

The next day, the students begin their lessons with a class on basic mana arts, under the instruction of Master Soleam'ji. As Mir'kiin is disciplined for his crass behavior, Nau'kheol looks briefly amused before forcing himself to remain outwardly aloof. Afterwards, the students are tested for their potential elemental affinities. To his irritation, Nau'kheol was not found to have any particular affinity at all. Later that day, he attends the history class taught by Master Traylyn. He finds Traylyn's lack of a clan name interesting, and asks the wizened master why he did not provide one. Traylyn largely evades the question, explaining that a lack of clan affiliation allows for an unbiased view of history.

The next day's classes begin with their introduction to combat training, under Master Sandaur. As Khal'harror asks what the point of physical training is when one wields sorcery and golems, Nau'kheol smacks him upside the head from behind. Sandaur notes with amusement that such defenses can mean very little if one is caught by surprise. Afterwards, the students are assigned to pair up for sparring, and Nau'kheol challenges Khal'harror, quickly gaining the advantage. During the class, Mir'kiin accidentally learns of Ariel's true gender, quickly informing both Nau'kheol and Khal'harror.

Attack on Ariel

Shortly after the class ends, the three confront Ariel in a remote hallway, revealing her gender in front of Yafein. Nau'kheol, already hating Ariel for her clan, readily takes this as an excuse to attack Ariel. Realizing that a fight is about to occur, a terrified Yafein abandons Ariel to face the other three by herself. As Nau'kheol and Mir'kiin advance on Ariel, Khal'harror offers to aid Ariel in exchange for a year's servitude, much to their irritation. When Ariel refuses, the pair attack as Khal'harror watches. Though she is able to hold her own, she is unable to make it past the boys and back to Sandaur. As Ariel begins gaining the upper hand, Khal'harror offers Mir'kiin a knife he had stolen from the earlier combat class. Mir'kiin gleefully takes his opportunity to stab Ariel in the side while she wrestles with Nau'kheol.

Wounded and now aware the boys have a lethal intent, Ariel flees on her floater, causing Nau and Mir'kiin to give chase. Nau'kheol quickly loses control of his floater, crashing into a wall and landing on the ground. However, Mir'kiin manages to keep up with Ariel and very nearly kills her by forcing her to fall from her floater into the lower levels. She barely survives and became fearful of the boys in her class as a result. For the next four years, Nau'kheol, Mir'kiin, and Khal'harror are able to bully Ariel with little consequence. During a tournament between their class and the other towers of the school, the three boys team up on Ariel and exclude her from their tower's team. Following this tournament, Ariel is pulled from the male school and asked to join the female Crescent.

Chrys'tel's Quest for Truth

The Orthorbbae

Nau continued his studies at Orthorbbae until he and Khal met with his Chrys'tel and her friends at school. They appeared to be hatching some kind of operation and Nau'kheol wanted to know what they were planning. Chrys'tel promised that she would tell Nau everything, but only if he agreed to help them. He did, and the girls lead him and Khal down to the basement of the Orthorbbae in female clothing so that they would not arouse suspicion.

There they broke into a secret room that they found held a gigantic freezer full of dead bodies that were being used to stored to create walking summons of drow souls. One of these summons, Sate'ja Vel'Sharen, attacked the group and Nau'kheol fought with the girls to bring her down. She was much stronger than the young Vals and would have overcome them had Khal's older sister, Naal'suul, not lost control to her seed during the fight. Naal became an insatiable glutton demon and devoured Sate'ja as the group sealed the freezer shut.

Whether he likes it or not, Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress intends to make Nau'kheol her first prince.[3]

Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress

Following Naal's demise to her inner demon, her best friend, Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress, was forced to face the challenges of her clan's upheaval alone. Kiel's normal happy eccentricity faded and she refused to speak with Chrys or her protector twin, Shinae. Kiel had been known to hold a candle for Nau'kheol in the past, though he had always rebuffed her advances. Chrys'tel suggested that Nau send Kiel'ndia a message to get her out of the Vloz'ress fortress. He accepted on the condition that she tell him everything she knew that was causing her to go looking around at Orthorbbae. Chrys'tel agreed, and Nau suggested that if this had anything to do with their older sisters Vy'chriel and Yaeminira, Chrys should speak with the royal Val'Kyorl'solenurn seer.

Nau convinced a friend of his, Kio'nel, to drive a carriage over to the Vel'Vloz'ress territories by exploiting his known crush on Chrys'tel. The boys arrived and enthusiastic Kiel'ndia agreed to go with Nau to a meeting between old friends. Nau'kheol was made incredibly uncomfortable by Kiel's over the top advances, but he survived the carriage ride and Kiel went to speak with Chrys'tel and their other friends. He ate with Kio'nel until Kiel came back to request a ride home. Nau told her to just take the carriage and go. She did, but not before giving him a kiss on the forehead as she left.

After she left, a clearly despondent Chrys was considering going back to the Val'Sarghress fortress for answers. She did not trust Shinae to come with her, but Nau insisted that he be allowed to go with her. He pointed out that he had been promised answers twice and deserved to know what was going on. Chrys decided to tell him on the way and the pair left to see the Sarghress.

A young Kau and Shala help tend to Nau'kheol's injuries.[4]

Sil'lice Val'Sharen

Chrys'tel told Nau that while she had been help captive by the Val'Sargress, she met with Sil'lice Val'Sharen. Sil'lice told her that Val'Sharess Diva'ratrika Val'Sharen was killed during the Nidraa'chal war by their own mother and her sisters Snadhya'rune and Sarv'swati. Sil'lice had also told her that the taint was not a safeguard, but a Nidraa'chal tool to manipulate drow and shorten their lifespans. After the secrets they had found in the Orthorbbae and the fact that Chrys had found the Val'Sharess tower in total ruin, she was finding it hard to know what to believe.

The pair snuck into the Val'Sarghress fortress when Snadhya'rune unexpectedly caused a huge distraction with her arrival at the gate. They met a slave girl named Diva who was wearing one of Chrys' old dresses and seemed to know much of the Vel'Sharen clan. Diva told them that she was once a servant to Diva'ratrika herself and promised to tell the children of Zala'ess anything they wanted so long as it did not interfere with her duties to the Val'Sarghress heir. She helped them break into Sil'lice's tower, where they were promptly ambushed by Kadara. Kadara had been on watch and was ruthless in her assault. She shot Nau'kheol in the foot with a crossbow and detained both Vel children in a pair of iron maidens while she forced Diva to give her a foot massage.

By the time Sil'lice returned, Nau'kheol had already passed out from blood loss. Sil'lice's childred, Kau and Shala, tended to Nau'kheol's wounds while Chrys'tel spoke with Sil'lice. Sil'lice gave Chrys a token of alliance to her line and instructions to just go home and survive. As they left, Nau became visibly frustrated. He did not like Sil'lice's notion that no matter how strong he became, he would still inevitably die from the seed within him. He angrily told Chrys that he would prefer not to know if that was true, and the siblings made the trip back home. [5]

Biography - Arc II

Nuqrah'shareh Civil War

15 years later, Nau'kheol grew into a soldier to stand at his sister Chrys'tel's side. The attended their mother, Zala'ess, in aid of the loyalists in the civil war that had broken out in Nuqrah'shareh. He followed Chrys' lead on several missions to restore balance. During a mission to disable enemy communications, Nau hesitated to kill a rebel in a building they were taking, citing that as of yet he had killed no one.[6] He later made his first kill when Zala'ess sent them to retrieve an unknown ancient Val'Illhar'dro weapon from the rebels' hands.

Nau and his group succeeded in finding that the weapon was actually a zeppelin used for overworld transit, but the rebels destroyed the elevator and escaped with the ship.

Zala'ess' Return to Chel

Nau'kheol and his sister Chrys'tel are led to the Beldrobbaen districts where they find Kiel'ndia running from Nir'naya and other Imperials. Much to his distaste the two save the Vloz'ress and learn that she offed the false Empress with the help of agents under Khaless Sharen. Even now, Kiel still attempts to flirt with Nau and disgust him further, but the young male is most concerned with hearing more news of Sharen interfering with other Sharen business.
