- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Originally a Vel'Sharen of Nishi'kanta's line, Ni'bai is now a nether summoner working towards the goals of Sene'kha Vel'Vloz'ress.

Appearance and Personality

Ni'bai is bitter and vengeful about her fate. The Vel'Sharen got away with killing or converting almost all of her family and has been free to rule Chel without opposition ever since. She ferociously seeks revenge for what Snadhya'rune, Sarv'swati, and Zala'ess have done to the noble and loyal Vals of Sharen.

Ni'bai has short yellow and white hair with yellow nail polish to match. She wears red hooded robes and has red lines tattooed down her face from her eyes to her jaw. She still wears a teal Vel'Sharen sash around her waist despite her shifted loyalties. Her protector twin, Ni'ju, is now an ethereal nether summon that obeys her command.

Biography - Arc I

Ni'bai used to be a noble of Nishi'kanta's lineage, and Ni'ju was once her protector twin. When the Nidraa'chal effectively took control of the Vel'Sharen clan, Ni'bai and Ni'ju were among those that were either forcibly tainted or exiled when their matriarch submitted to the demands of her sisters. It is unknown what happened to Ni'ju that turned her into a loyal nether summon, but she now follows the command of Ni'bai.

Some time after the Vel'Sharen conversion, Ni'bai left her home and found purpose with Sene'kha Vel'Vloz'ress. Sene'kha hoped to summon an ancient demon god that would destroy the clans system forever, and Ni'bai was happy to help.

Hunting the Shard

Ni'bai was a member of the search party sent out to locate the demon shard Discordia. She, Umpus, Kes'sen, Baliir and Kuso all followed Sene'kha's lead.

During their hunt, the Vloz'ress group collided with a Val'Kyorl'solenurn purge squad in the middle of a Val'Sarghress trade route. Ni'bai squared off in a fight with Desmonde Kyorl'solenurn.

She first tried to convince Desmonde to unite with the Vloz'ress against the true enemy - the ones that now ruled the Vel'Sharen. Desmonde refused to listen to Ni'bai, citing that tainted drow could only spread lies.[2] Ni'bai realized it was pointless and commanded Ni'ju to destroy her. Ni'ju obliged, and Desmonde's aura was immediately shattered.

The Plan Goes On

Despite Sene'kha's death at the hands of the Val'Kyorl'solenurn, the rest of the group tracked Discordia to the surface. They found her and quickly captured her before bringing her back to the Vel'Vloz'ress fortress for Ill'haress Kharla'ggen.

However, they returned to find that the clan had been taken over by Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress, a young Vel who disagreed outright with Sene'kha's demon god plan. She killed Kes'sen and offered a reward for Discordia's body.

Ni'bai, who only wished to see her revenge completed, teamed up with Umpus to carry out Sene'kha's plans without her or the clan's support. They hid in the war ruins near to the Vloz'ress rift and started the long preparations to fulfill Sene'kha's dream.

Biography - Arc II

Ni'bai and Umpus were still hard at work preparing Discordia for the summoning ritual that would change Chel forever. Since Kharla'ggen's unique aura was necessary for the plan to succeed, they waited patiently for Kiel'ndia to make a mistake and leave her unprotected.

The Demon God Invades

When Kiel left for Orthorbbae to retrieve the demon formerly known as Naal'suul, Ni'bai enacted her plan at last: to end all the clans in the city in one fell swoop. With the aid of her scourges Pen'ri, Cac'bolg, Be'tor and the vel'akar Umpus, Ni'bai begins the first stage of isolating Kharla from Kiel's friends. Ni'bai herself attempts to appease the woman with toys and the chained Discordia.[3] Pen'ri leads the Illharess away, while Ni'bai and the remaining minions prepare.

Finally, the former Vel'Sharen opens a summoning gate beneath Discordia that releases a massive amount of smaller ethereal demons into the atmosphere, sweeping over Chel'el'Sussoloth like a red flood[4]. The entire city is on alert now, as both the SArghress and the Vel'Sharen armies prepare to assault the Vloz'ress tower. Sara'hilana Balvhakara and Baliir arrive too late[5], with the demon god having already consumed its shard. They struggled to prevent Ni'bai's ethereal horror from feeding on the offered lesser demons to gain power, but Umpus and Ni'bai proved formidable blockades. When Kharla is led into the summoning chamber, she is immediately captured by the demon god and consumed.

When the demon invaded Kharla's mind[6], everyone within an enormous radius of Chel'el'Sussoloth--from the Kyorl'solenurn wall to the Beldrobaben towers, to as far as the Nal'sarkoth districts--were engulfed in the demon god's new aura. Nearly ever citizen who carried an aura became Kharla's puppets. Ni'bai did not escape this effect, however. [7]

In the end, with the combined forces of the Val'Sarghress and the Sharen Alliance, the demon god was not destroyed, but driven westward out of Chel. Ni'bai herself hung from the wreckage of the Vloz'ress tower and called desperately for help, but none came and she fell helplessly into the Rift[8].
