- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Ran'diirk Xyrrai'zestu Sharen is a cameo character appearing in Moonless Age that was created and designed by Pariel.

Appearance and Biography

Ran'diirk is a strong Vel'Sharen Imperial Guard with long white hair pulled back in a braid. His eyes are tainted red.

His armor is modified with a Xyrrai'zestu family emblem, and a longsword is his weapon of choice.

Biography

Ran'diirk, a member of the Xyrrai'zestu house, is an Imperial Guard charged with the protection of empress Diva'ratrika Val'Sharen.

First Landing Attack

Ran'dirrk was posted alongside several other Imperial Guards during a public parade of Diva'ratrika. Unbeknownst to him, the procession was actually a ruse created by Sarv'swati to propagate the myth that Val'Sharess Diva'ratrika was alive and well. The woman he was protecting was actually a biogolem in the form of the Empress.

Ran'diirk only discovered this when a squad consisting of Sarghress assassins and commoners attacked the parade procession. While the guards were distracted by the sloppy commoner attacks, Myo'na of the Fallen Legion was able to break their defences and stealthily murder the biogolem, exposing the fake Diva'ratrika.

While defending the false Empress, Ran'diirk took a nasty blow to the head with a war hammer. He was also caught in the center of a mana explosion. After the attack, he dropped his helmet to reveal his injuries. While he reported exhaustion, he claimed to be in no pain despite the copious amounts of blood pouring from his gory head wound. He was just as shocked as his squad mates that the taint was so thoroughly numbing him to the pain of such a serious injury.

Felde

Ran'diirk joined Sorn'mal and Sarai Shessembrae Beldrobbaen to assist at Snadhya's party at Felde. After a conversation with Sarai, Ran enters the main hall. His true objective is revealed, when upon sighting Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress and Snadhya, approaches them sword in hand, and openly attempts to take down the latter, ignoring Sarai's claims of Kiel being the assasin of Diva'ratrika. As the exchange of blows continues, Ran'diirk denounces Snadhya as a "Worm", and further elaborates by stating he was now aware of what she did. Clearly outmatched by Snadhya'runes summon and both his swordsmanship and mana arts proven ineffective, Ran'diirk uses an overcharged core to blow himself up in a last bout of loyalty to Diva'ratrika, not heeding any of Snadhya's attempts to make him cease the hostilities. His final attack has no effect, and he is then turned into a summon by Snadhya'runes.
