- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Appearance and Personality

File:Senekha.jpg
The real brains behind the Vloz'ress.

Sene'kha is the Vel'Vloz'ress clan's chief Nether Summoner; in addition to the formidable individual potency required to acquire such status and the commanding position over the clan's arms that it endows, Sene'kha is also a central figure in Vloz'ress politics, being seen as both kingmaker and puppetmistress to Ilharess Kharla'ggen.

Baliir Vel'Vloz'ress praises her as an inspirational idealist engaged in a benevolent struggle against an oppressive clan system; however, this is difficult to square with images of her actual self, which convey a more sinister atmosphere. Her complexion is defined around sly leers and contemptuous smirks; she displays a propensity for lurking in shadows and demonstrates a callous attitude towards the integrity of drow life (which she views in terms of vessels for demonic possesion). And, of course, her suspected abuse of Kharla'ggen is, by all accounts, 'arch-utilitarian' at best. Whether Sene'kha is truly seized with revolutionary fervour or just cynically wears the mask as a ruse to dupe the dispossessed and disenfranchised of Chel'el'sussuloth into supporting her (Baliir himself growls "the clans took everything from me, so I will take everything from the clans") is an issue currently open to dispute.

She certainly believes in her abilities to persuade anyone and doesn't seem to understand that not everyone can be bribed.

Biography - Arc I

Bringing Kharla'ggen

The circumstances of Sene'kha's early life, family and career are unknown. The most that can be said is that she was an established member of the Vloz'ress community before their acquisition of the 'Vel' honorific and investiture as one of the nine Great Clans following the Nidraa'chal putsch.

The defining action of Sene'kha, which serves to both indicate her character and cement her high position is the introduction of young Kharla'ggen to the Vloz'ress 'nether cult'. Sene'kha demonstrated great interest in the unsettling and unearthly child from the outset, claiming to have retrieved her from vagrant abandonment in the barren wilderness caverns.

Sene'kha pressed for her election to Ill'haress following the demonstration of her terrible abilities in destroying a Sharen warband after the first overtures of alliance from the imperial clan were rebuffed by Ven'ndia Vloz'ress.[1] Ven'ndia refused Sene'kha's plans to use the girl in this way, and was mysteriously killed by Kharla's immense power soon after. The message clear, Sene'kha installed Kharla'ggen as Ill'haress without protest.

The Vloz'ress themselves freely admit that Sene'kha was the real leader of the clan and that Kharla'ggen is essentially just a figurehead.

Hunting Discordia

Sene'kha personally commanded the Vloz'ress warband assembled to hunt down Discordia, who is the last shard of a great, demonic dragon named Mal'kaisar'as. The dragon was shattered by its ancient enemy, the demonic spider which the Vloz'ress clan nether summoners worship. This led to a collision with Ky'ovarde Val'Kyorl'solenurn and her party of heretic-hunters in the Dvergar caverns lining a Val'Sarghress trade route.[2]

Despite her position as a fearsome sorceress, summoner and one of the Vel'Vloz'ress clan's strongest warriors, she was wounded and defeated after a simple distraction provided by the intervention of patrolling Highland Raiders.

Her followers fled to continue the hunt, but Sene'kha herself was captured by the Sarghress troops.

Sene'kha's Imprisonment

Incapacitated, Sene'kha was held prisoner by the Val'Sahgress Highland Raider escort and taken to Machike. Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress visited her there. Sene'kha immediately tried to persuade her to help her escape, but Kiel refused to react to orders nor threats. Having come for information, Sene'kha presented her full plans: using Discordia as bait, she aimed to lure the Demon God to Kharla'ggen and trap it in her immense aura.[3] This would enlarge Kharla'ggen's power enough to rule Chel and, according to Sene'kha, the whole world.

Sene'kha explained that if freed, she could make Kiel a queen. She also offered to help Kiel's best friend Naal'suul Val'Beldrobbaen to overcome her crippling taint. Kiel ultimately refused to take the bribe and left Sene'kha to her impending execution.

The Sarghress handed her to the Kyorl'solenurn. She briefly tried to convince Ky'ovarde to spare her in exchange for useful information, but Ky'ovarde ignored her, beheaded her, and sealed her seed, while the presiding Kyorl judiciators purged her body with fire.[4]

Sene'kha's Legacy

Though dead, Sene'kha plan continued on without her. Her followers successfully captured Discordia, and Ni'bai Vel'Sharen has been studying Sene'kha's notes as they wait for Kharla'ggen to be unprotected.
