Biography - Arc II

Sarghress Civil War

Shaira'ja and Mek'kel collect Ariel on Sang's orders.

Shaira'ja was first seen after the conclusion of the District War, as Ariel waited to spar with Quain'tana. As Riviel brazenly walked up to Ariel and challenged her to a sparring match, Shaira'ja watched with mild interest. After Rivel's taunts goaded Ariel into accepting the challenge, Shaira'ja pondered aloud if she should join in on the sparring.[1] Mek'kel offered to practice with her, but suggested a different location.

Not long thereafter, as Quain'tana finally snapped at attempts to restrain her, Sharai'ja was sent with Mek'kel by Sang to escort Ariel to the House Niz'zre barracks. Sharai'ja's energetic and somewhat unprofessional attitude embarrassed Mek'kel, a fact the cheerful young Sarghress was gleefully aware of. Upon reaching the barracks, she was dismissed and left alongside Mek'kel.

Biography - Arc III

Hermionne Invasion of Machike'Shikumo

Shaira'ja and the other mana specialists use earth sorcery to separate the hermionne troops.

Shaira'ja is among the Sarghress defenders holding off the Hermionne siege on Machike'Shikumo.[2] She and the other mana specialists used earth affinity to build a wall between the encroaching hordes and the colony walls.

Later, after the Machike residents gathered their wounded to recover from their victory against the Hermionnes, Snadhya'rune sent an envoy in the form of Kyo'nne Val'Illhar'dro, who promised assistance for the colony in return for Ariel accompanying her to Felde. When Ariel refused and ordered Kyo'nne to return to her mistress, the ship made as if to leave, but returned shortly and began bombarding the colony with its mana cannons. Shaira'ja participated in a counter-attack that was prepared in the event the airship returned.[3]

After being driven off by the traps one time, the airship returned, this time with a bombardment of gigantic rocks in tow. Shaira'ja joined Ariel yet again in a desperate attempt to draw the airship away from the colony, joining a group of approximately thirty able bodies who had survived the latest barrage on Machike.

Escape to Sha'shi

Shaira'ja and the other defenders continued to play cat-and-mouse with Snadhya'rune's airship, leaving a trail of stuffed dummies and stone counterfeits to draw the fire of the mana cannons. Eventually, the defenders located Sha'shi, a research outpost located in the heart of the underworld.

A Desperate Gamble

After forging a temporary alliance with the engineers of Sha'shi, the Machike defenders decided to make an attempt to board and capture the Nidraa'chal airship when it landed at the outpost to take on supplies. Shaira'ja and Mek'kel did not make it on to the ship initially, as the airship's crew was warned of the Sarghress presence after Da'xia spotted Ariel on the ground.[4] After the boarding party was pinned down by Bae'rali Val'Sullisin'rune, they were then released by Faen Val'Sullisin'rune, who countered the powerful empath. Shaira'ja and the remaining defenders were then able to board the ship to continue the take-over attempt.
