- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Siyah'khorshed

The Siyah’khorshed, also known under the moniker of the Black Suns, cannot be accurately defined as a singular clan or race. The Siyah’khorshed is composed of numerous loosely-affiliated nomadic tribes of raiders and mercenaries that wander the underworld, preying on caravans and travelers to survive. They are considered a scourge by many and the primary threat to travelers who venture beyond their cities’ walls.

History

Little is known about the formation of the Siyah’khorshed. Many of its tribes that it consists of possibly date back centuries, but considering the harsh nature of the underworld beyond the cities it is just as likely that few if any are particularly old. Details on when and who founded the “Black Suns” title and began assimilating tribes under the banner is also a mystery. At can be surmised however that the Siyah’khorshed are at least two centuries old.

They were once a major threat to other underworld habitations, toppling a few and even undertaking a failed assault on Chel'el'sussoloth at some point in the past. This period of rambunctiousness came to an end roughly around the turn of the tenth century. For nearly a hundred years they had lain dormant, but recently their activities have begun to escalate once again. Many colonies have found themselves the subjects of frequent attacks, and they even felled the nation of Shifaye'sindil whilst it was embroiled in a civil war.

Culture and Politics

The culture of the Siyah’khorshed is somewhat of an unknown. As they are a loose affiliation of far-flung tribes it can be assumed that their habits differ wildly.

The sole exposure granted to the reader is to the Earth tribe. This particular bunch place a strong emphasis on physical capabilities; those who lead rise in rank by proving themselves superior to others in physical combat. They are also much simpler and utilitarian in their philosophies towards the world, considering the comparatively ordered methodologies of Chel'el'sussoloth’s sociological landscape to be frivolous and unnecessarily complicated, a breeding ground for weakness and unnatural vice.

As a whole the Siyah’khorshed hold the strength of a nation, outnumbering any single Chelian clan. Thankfully their tribes are individually weak and generally independent of each other, tied together only by the Black Sun banner. Their loose organization also makes them poor combatants and ill-suited for effective combat formation. These combined factors make them merely potential threats to the cores of established underworld civilizations, picking at the perimeters at their very worst. It would take a truly prestigious individual to emerge from their ranks and unify enough tribes for them to pose a serious threat to any one city.

The politics of the Siyah’khorshed are simple: raid and pillage. This makes them the bane of many of Chel'el'sussoloth’s clans, especially those reliant on external trade to survive. A few, such as the Val'Nal'sarkoth, have gone on the offensive, actively hunting tribes along their trade routes. The Vel'Sharen on the other hand have embraced the Black Suns at least in part. Having bested Farasank in battle Sarv'swati Vel'Sharen has pressed the Earth Tribe into her service, using its tribesmen to bolster her own military strength within the city.

Clan Fortress and Properties

The Siyah’khorshed holds no notable property. Their nomadic nature lends them to possess only temporary locals. They simply raid, ransack and move on.
