- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Appeared in chapters   2

Soleam'ji is an Orthorbbae Master, responsible for teaching basic mana arts to the students of Davya tower.

Appearance & Personality

Master Soleam'ji is a composed individual with long purple hair and facial tattoos. He sports the mismatched eyes common among the Sullisin'rune; in his case grey and pale gold. Though he appears to enjoy teaching and is both calm and patient, he has little tolerance for disrespect, quickly punishing students that misbehave or disrupt his class. He dresses in ornate robes that bear little relation to his clan colours, a rather common theme among the teachers of Orthorbbae. He also possesses a styled headband and staff, both with embedded mana foci.

Biography

File:Soleamji.jpg
Master Soleam'ji uses his staff to create illusions that better illustrate his lessons.

He first appeared as the master teaching basic mana manipulation in Ariel's first year, though it is possible he also teaches higher level classes in the subject. He addressed the students in a very calm demeanor and answered all questions in just enough detail to get his points across, while also encouraging students to think through the answers for themselves. When Mir'kiin interrupted his lecture and displayed a flagrant disrespect for the class, Soleam'ji disciplined the young boy by using air sorcery to first pull the breath from his lung, then drag him to the floor of the class. His point made, he further drove the lesson home by turning the boy's hair and clothes pink via sorcery.

As Soleam'ji stated to the young students, everything in the world around them is an element that can be shaped and affected by mana; the only limitations being the wielder's skill and imagination. After tasking Mir'kiin with preparing a table for his next lesson, he answered Dra'jyal's question regarding the relation between Ice and Water sorcery. He commended the child for the excellent question, explaining that while the elements are closely related, the methods used to manipulate them differ greatly. He further compared this point to the use of Light sorcery, noting that while many of the students are capable of using mana to create light, none are capable of creating it's absence.

With his first lesson complete, Soleam'ji turned his attention to testing his young students for their particular elemental alignment, identifying sorcery that the students may have an innate talent for. Ariel wa discovered, to her joy, to have an affinity for Air sorcery. However, she also displayed a peculiar reaction to the blood element, causing Soleam'ji to label biological elements as hazardous to her until she could speak with a specialist master on the subject. Each of the other students was also tested; Khal'harror was found to possess an affinity for bone; Yafein an affinity for earth; Mir'kiin an affinity for fire; Dra'jyal an affinity for metal; Sorane an affinity for sound (commong among the Illhar'dro); and for Gailen, the rare affinity for wood and herbs. Alone of all the students, Nau'kheol was found to posses no particular affinity.
