- This wiki is very much under construction. The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. It is now being rebuilt with the launch of Hel. Sorry if it's a little messy right now!

Taldrin acts as an assistant to Quain'tana, even during sparring practice.

He is first seen in the aftermath of the Puppeteer Incident, serving as an aide to Quain'tana. Knowing of a practice bout to occur between the veteran leader and Ariel, he takes the time to fetch Ariel's preferred spear from her youth. He offers a few quiet words of encouragement to the young heir, then falls back to count the blows as they land. After ten brutal rounds of sparring, a beaten and bruised Ariel is lectured on the value of a temporary retreat. Taldrin walks up to collect the equipment and asks if the young Val requires a healer, though Ariel insists she will be fine.

Biography - Arc III

Attack On Machike

Taldrin was among the defenders during the Hermionne siege on Machike'Shikumo. He brought a report to Ariel and Kel'noz that the first wave of attackers had been repelled, but the second wave had brought with them a heavy bombardment cannon, which Key'sal felt the defenders wouldn't be able to withstand. He left with Kel'noz, who insisted on viewing the battlefield to assess the situation and to plan their next move.

Surprise Attack By The Nidraa'chal

Later, after the Machike residents gathered their wounded to recover from their victory against the Hermionnes, Snadhya'rune sent an envoy in the form of Kyo'nne Val'Illhar'dro, who promised assistance for the colony in return for Ariel accompanying her to Felde. When Ariel refused and ordered Kyo'nne to return to her mistress, the ship made as if to leave, but returned shortly and began bombarding the colony with its mana cannons. Due to the massive damage to the fortress and colony, Zareh and his family are forced to evacuate to the city below[1].

The Nidraa'chal airship continued to follow the colonists, however, intent on eradicating them completely by dropping large rock masses on top of the city. Taldrin and Zareh joined up with the remaining Machike defenders, leading the ship on a chase deeper into the underground in order to draw them away from the rest of the survivors.

As the defenders made to leave, they encountered an Alliance traveling party, led by Oiloss'lin Xyrrai'zestu Sharen. Hiding quickly, they managed to avoid being detected by the Alliance warriors, as they did not know the motives of the travellers or their destination. After the party was ambushed by Kavahini warriors, Oiloss'lin resorted to nether summoning to scatter the ambushers. As one of the wounded Koubagia Kavahini attempted to escape, she was chased by one of the summoned demons, and made her way towards the rocks where the Machike defenders were hidden. Not wanting to allow a demon to attack their own group, Bal'diira sealed it away, while the others tended to Koubagia.

The defenders were soon challenged by another Kavahini warrior, Chakri Kavahini. She demanded the release of her comrade, and when Ariel attempted to negotiate a possible alliance, she challenged the defenders to earn the Kavahini's respect by taking the airship.

Escape to Sha'shi

Taking on Chakri's challenge to prove themselves worthy of being the Kavahini's allies, the defenders continued to play cat-and-mouse with Snadhya'rune's airship, leaving a trail of stuffed dummies and stone counterfeits to draw the fire of the mana cannons and to lure the ship deeper into the underworld. Eventually, they located Sha'shi, a research outpost located in the heart of the underworld which was home to a group of engineers studying golem technology and the nearby pieces of the fallen moon that had formed the underworld millenia ago.

A Desperate Gamble

After forging a temporary alliance with the engineers of Sha'shi, the Machike defenders decided to make an attempt to board and capture the Nidraa'chal airship when it landed at the outpost to take on supplies. Mek'kel and Shair'ja did not make it on to the ship initially, as the airship's crew was warned of the Sarghress presence after Da'xia spotted Ariel on the ground.[2] After the boarding party was pinned down by Bae'rali Val'Sullisin'rune, they were then released by Faen Val'Sullisin'rune, who countered the powerful empath. Mek'kel and the remaining defenders were then able to board the ship to continue the take-over attempt.
