The original wiki was set to be shut down and the wiki was largely mirrored to a Fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. This migration was put on hold when it appeared the original wiki could in fact be retained, however the old wiki was lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February, 2023. Long after the rise of the Vel'Vloz'ress as one of the Nine Great Clans, Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress, motivated by a personal promise, moves to take back her clan after the death of Sene'kha Vel'Vloz'ress. Sene'kha's followers are swiftly deposed, but Kiel's tenuous hold will only be maintained by her control of her sister, Ill'haress Kharla'ggen Vel'Vloz'ress.

Major Influences

The Nidraa'chal Conspiracy

Main article: The Nidraa'chal Conspiracy

Snadhya'runes Vel'Sharen created a secret society known as the Nidraa'chal to further her own plans to change the Underworld. At some point in her studies of Tainting, she approached Ven'nedia Vloz'ress, Kiel's mother and leader of the Vloz'ress cult at the time, for information and aid in her projects. Ven'nedia refused an alliance and appeared very disturbed by the entire situation. She could not send out warnings though before a Sharen force was sent to attack the cult, only to be defeated by the strange powers of young Kharla'ggen.

Rise to Great Clan

Sene'kha was quick to suggest to Ven'nedia that they use Kharla as a puppet-ruler to secure a position of power and protection. Ven'nedia was against this, as this would be an abuse of the mentally stunted girl. In the end, Sene'kha took matters into her own hands, bribing Kharla'ggen with a doll to turn Ven'nedia into one of her “puppets.” Ven'nedia's animated form was then hung over the entrance to the royal tower.

Sene'kha then allied with the Vel'Sharen clan, offering them knowledge on sealing armor in the post-Nidraa'chal War climate. The Vloz'ress was risen to the status of a Val clan, becoming the Vel'Vloz'ress, with Sene'kha playing shadow-ruler behind Kharla'ggen. This rise to power did not come without controversy, and the Val'Kyorl'solenurn immediately became enemies due to their anti-Tainting stances.

Sene'kha's Execution

While searching for the demon shard Discordia, Sene'kha and her gang crossed paths with the heretic hunters led by Ky'ovarde Kyorl'solenurn. In the midst of their battle, Val'Sarghress Highland Raiders led by Quill'yate Yurun'hiir Sarghress intercepted the group and demanded a cease in fighting on the Sarghress-controlled trade route. Sene'kha became distracted with the newcomers, allowing Ky'ovarde to injure her. The groups fled, leaving Sene'kha to be taken into custody.

The Order of the Twin Eyes then petitioned for her to be turned over to them, and the Sarghress eventually relented to get the Kyorl'solenurn out of Machike'Shikumo, not realizing they were handing over the most powerful member of the Vloz'ress. Sene'kha was executed by the Order, ensuring a possible breakdown of the Vloz'ress.

While her gang, led by Kes'sen Vloz'ress continued to search for the shard, Kiel'ndia and Naal'suul Val'Beldrobbaen raced back to Chel in order to beat the group and thwart their plans to take over Chel'el'sussoloth.

Event Timeline

21st Day of the 13th Moon, 1098 – Securing Kharla'ggen

Kiel'ndia and Naal'suul managed to make it back to Chel'el'sussoloth, and Kiel began her plan of “saving the world” from the machinations of the now deceased Sene'kha. The first point of action was to ensure that Kharla was safe from use by Kes'sen or other Nether Summoners once word of Sene'kha's death reached the fortress.

While Kiel began instructing Kharla to forget about Sene'kha's plans and prepare her for the eventual power-grab, Qujia Vloz'ress, a Xuile'solen scourge from Sene'kha's crew, arrived at the Vloz'ress fortress. While he was sent to secure Kharla for Kes'sen's return, he instead turned to Nether Summoner Larvova Vloz'ress, a political individual with a strong gang who had accompanied Kharla'ggen to the Council Gathering some days before. Quija announced Sene'kha's death to Larvova first to give her a head-start on taking power in exchange for joining her crew. Larvova did attempt to approach Kharla, but instead encountered Kiel standing beside the ill'haress, displaying all of Kharla's puppets (and a disguised Naal). Larvova did not outright deny Kiel's claim as Kharla's caretaker and controller, but instead offered to compromise to ensure Kharla's protection (as well as Kiel's). Eventually, after losing a henchmen to the consequences of his own threats, Larvova backed down.

Kiel realized she must come up with a plan to deal with the arrival of Sene'kha's demon hunters, and commissioned Kar'liir Vloz'ress to create two golems. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her at the time, Larvova was working behind the scenes to convince other Summoners to not target Kiel, as Kharla had become unpredictable in her possible reaction to her “sister's” death.

Kiel'ndia assisted Chrys'tel Vel'Sharen in her quest for the truth as a possible ally in her own plans. After losing Naal'suul in the depths of Orthorbbae to demonic possession, Kiel seemed to drift on the will to continue her plans. However, Chrys'tel and her protector twin, Shinae Vel'Sharen, did not give up on the promise to aid Kiel in return (though Shinae still had reservations about everything that was happening). Kiel then began working to train Sene'kha's army of Naga to obey her, and prepare other items for her meeting with Kes'sen.

When Kes'sen arrived with his prized shard, he went himself to see Kharla while sending the rest of his gang away to hide Discordia. He was led by Quija to the tower, under the pretense that Kharla was moved there for her own protection. When he entered the large forum at the base of the tower, exits were blocked by Naga guards while Nether Summoners watched from the balconies above, including Larvova and Nyo'ka Vloz'ress. In a barrage of Naga, golems, and unstable foci, Kes'sen became mortally injured, and Kiel landed the final blow as he lost control to his seed. She then decreed that the Clan would take a new course, attempting to return to their old ways and abandoning the plans of Sene'kha.

Aftermath

27th Day of the 13th Moon, 1098 – Attempt on Kiel's life

The same evening as her successful defeat of Kes'sen, Kiel'ndia was poisoned while eating with Kharla. While Kharla searched for Larvova, believing her the culprit, two scourges of Nyo'ka instead revealed themselves to be the true poisoners. They fled when Kharla returned with Larvova and the poison was leeched from Kiel's blood. Larvova left her with words of wisdom about her solitary ways and revealed she was the reason that Kiel wasn't killed on the spot after Kes'sen's death.

Kiel then attempted to take revenge against Nyo'ka, but her hand was stayed by seeing Nyo'ka's children, remembering her own mother's death. She put out an ultimatum that the scourges be brought before her, as the weight of her future came crashing down on her.

28th Day of the 13th Moon, 1098 – Sene'kha's Legacy

Larvova hired on many of Sene'kha's former gang in order to increase her own power and influence, and Nyo'ka punished one of the poisoners while hiding the other. Meanwhile, Umpuus and Ni'bai Vel'Sharen took Discordia to a hidden location. Ni'bai intended to continue Sene'kha's work for her own vengeance.

1099 to 1114 – Kiel'ndia's Rule

Kiel'ndia remained leader of the Vloz'ress well into the Sharen-Sarghress conflict. The Vloz took on extra territory lost from fleeing clans and remained allies of the Sharen up until the year before Arc 2. Her attempts at reforming the clan have been nebulous at best, with Nether Summoners keeping to themselves and out of trouble for fear of Kharla's wrath, the same fear they held under Sene'kha's rule. Kiel'ndia has attempted to retake the “Val” title for the clan, but they are still colloquially known as Vel.
