Kess'sen shows some limited apitude as a combat sorceror, but his prime forte is in close quarters. Kess'sen, in the thick of battle.

Kess'sen is a Soul Seeker, the partner of Sene'kha Vel'Vloz'ress and her closest lieutenant.

Like his mate Sene'kha, there is no specific detail about Kess'sen's early life or how he came to occupy his current position. However, his position as a Soul Seeker does allow us to make some inferences on the likely nature of his career: It is possible he was not born into the old Vloz'ress nether cult, instead arriving at its gates as a vagabond mercenary seeking what desperate scraps no-one else would throw his way; subsequently becoming awed by and converting fully to the nether-cult dogma propounded by the Vel'Vloz'ress; and then nurturing a particularly innate talent for killing and germinating a passion for violence, beginning the grim and brutal process of fighting his way to the very top, to win the attention and favour of the nether summoners. This model history for Soul Seekers seems to be borne out in Kess'sen, as he displays the firey temper and pugnacious attitude one would expect to need to get by in a clan founded on strife and riven with murder, and he also holds an open contempt for Sharess-worshippers (exemplified by the Val'Kyorl'Solenurn), relishing opportunities to fight them.

Kess'sen shows some limited apitude as a combat sorceror, but his prime forte is in close quarters. His fighting style is pistoned by immense physical strength and powered by a conflagration of raw, rampant, and relentless aggression - continually pressing into the offensive and raining down an unchecked torrential hail of blows, directly battering and pummeling the opponent into oblivion. This method relies upon the opponent continually falling back away from the sheer heated intensity of Kess'sen's attacks, allowing Kess'sen to steamroller on until the foe is exhausted and overwhelmed; it is consequently flawed in that if the adversary has the skill and courage to stand his ground and stay close in, he can duck around the straight line of Kess'sen's storming drive and launch counterattacks to which Kess'sen has little defense against beyond the ability of his own constitution to carry the blows and the wits to respond to them once they're landed - somewhat effective, but not ideal.

Kess'sen accompanied his mate as a member of the warband assembled by Sene'kha to track and capture the daemonic "shard", Discordia. When this group collided with Ky'ovarde Val'Kyorl'solenurn's own party of heretic-hunters, Kess'sen himself squared off in a private duel against Sang'oro Val'Kyorl'solenurn; Kess'sen's seemingly limitless battle-rage was ably demonstrated, but his limitations also became apparent as Sang'oro was the only one to successfully land hits in the fight. The battle was unable to be resolved owing to the intervention of the Val'Sarghress Highland Raiders under Quill'yate Yurun'hiir Val'Sarghress - a demonstration of whether Kess'sen can meet his reputation as the Vel'Vloz'ress's foremost fighter must lurk, poised, for another day and a new battlefield.
