Layani was on the Palace Isle when it was attacked by rebel mercenaries, along with [[Ishii Val'Illhar'dro]] and [[Nyo'ka Vloz'ress|Nyo'ka's]] children. She fends off some attackers with air sorcery, but is stabbed in the leg by one looking to take a bite out of her.

She is later seen aiding the Illhar'dro by trying to convince the remnant rebel groups to surrender after the war.
