Moonless Age Character
Portrait of Zhor
Race: Dokkalfar
Current Status
At Mel's Side
Zhor comfortingly soothes Mel's wrath.[1]
Zhor is a giant spider Aware, mate of Mel'arnach Val'Sarghress, and father of Ariel.

Appearance & Personality

Zhor was once a dark elf of the Val'Sharen, but his body was somehow permanently altered into the spider form to serve as a guardian of Orthorbbae.

Biography - Arc I

Zhor was alone for centuries until Mel'arnach found him, and he began a pleasant companionship with the Sarghress woman. When Mel'arnach was locked in her room for disobedience, Zhor remained at her side to provide comfort--from this, Ariel was born. When the girl was brought to the room, he tried to approach her but was told to stay back by his mate. When Mel managed an escape from prison, Zhor faithfully followed her to Snadhya'rune's tower on the Rebuilt District's edge, and even to the heart of the Vel'sharen's dominion in Orthorbbae. He was able to discern the true nature of the disguise Khaless Sharen wore when she began to impersonate Lulianne and tried to warn Mel about the change. Still, Zhor stays by her side, even when the two ride with Snadhya'rune back to the Sarghress lands to face Mel's hated mother.

For all of his aid in soothing Mel's lonliness, he cannot help her when Quain'tana Val'Sarghress breaks Mel's arms and forces her to breed with males to produce more heirs.

Biography - Arc II

Zhor was moved to Felde with Snadhya'rune's help, where his spider body was transformed back into its original dark elven self, via Wi'am Val'Jaal'darya and her bioengineering. He cannot walk and is wheelchair-bound, but he is slowly learning how to speak again. His first words to Mel were of concern for their daughter Ariel--Mel'arnach reacted with scorn for what her mother had done to her and the child, telling Zhor to forget Ariel completely. When Sara'hilana Balvhakara sneaks into Zhor's room, in his struggle to speak he speaks of Snadhya'rune's madness and how Empress Diva'ratrika knew of the sickness in her daughter's head.
