Chapter 3 of Moonless Age continues the story of Ariel's experiences and struggles in the male section of Orthorbbae. Despite the hardships she faces, she forms a strong friendship with Faen'arae and is ultimately forced to choose between life with her only friend and the duty she has to her clan.

Chapter 4 continues Ariel's efforts to find allies for upcoming attack on Mir'kiin. After being lead to the Black Dragon Tavern by her new slave, she explores her options for hiring a fighting slave.

Chapter 11 tells several stories from many perspectives. It focuses largely on the aftermath of Vy'chriel's plot to turn the Val'Kyorl'solenurn and Vel'Vloz'ress clans against each other in an attempt to prove her worth. The chapter also tells the origin story of the Vel'Vloz'ress clan and continues Ariel's quest to find Faen.

Chapter 12 is the culmination of the growing tensions brewing between several different factions. As Ky'ovarde's heretic hunt catches up with Sene'kha's quest to find the shard Discordia, Ariel and her search party are caught in the crossfire tearing through the caverns of the Dvergar trade route.

Following Sene'kha's capture, Kiel'ndia discovers the true motives behind her clan's actions. Meanwhile, the anxious Val'Kyorl'solenurn purge squad prepare for her execution.

Ariel and her group finally make their way above the mist to the land above. As the sun sets and the group settle in for the night, Chirinide mediates on her holy purpose.

The Vel'Vloz'ress complete their search for the shard on the Spine of Haltonreibe. Ariel and her party assist Chirinide's group when they are attacked by halmes before arriving at Nagyescsed. After a failed attempt to infiltrate the castle, the group gets timely assistance from a squad of Highland Raiders.

The patrol continues, this time stopping to visit Kyo'nne after her latest concert. Kyo asks Ariel to spread word about recent Hermionne invasions, hoping to recruit Sarghress assistance.

Ariel and more volunteers report to Koil'dorath. An attempt to assassinate the false Empress is made, revealing the Vel'Sharen's deception. Shinae gives birth to a demon, bringing about tragedy for the protector twin. Kiel'ndia is reunited with a long-lost clanmate.

The Sarghress makes a push towards the district where the Sharen holds conscripted commoners.

Nishi'kanta comes out of hiding to confront Snadhya'rune, hoping to put an end to her sister's scheming as Chrys'tel and her friends search desperately for a cure.

Ariel faces adversaries both inside and outside of the walls of Machike, as the clan prepares the colony's defense against a foreign invasion, as well as the return of an old enemy.

The Wolf Pack bands together with new and old allies to take the fight to Felde, hoping to avenge the destruction of Machike. The results of the battle tests the loyalties of many, as well as bringing new betrayals to light.

Kiel'ndia and her small family have settled in the remains of the Orthorbbae, living in relative peace, until new and interesting visitors force them to return to the life and demon-infested city they had hoped to leave behind.

Chrys'tel Vel'Sharen continues her quest to unravel Snadya'rune's schemes, joining forces again with Kiel and her misfit crew. Meanwhile, Ariel and Kel'noz Val'Sarghress are returned to the Sarghress Fortress in Chel, where they must fight not only for the clan's future, but for their very survival.
